Quantity Surveyor – Job Description
A Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs related to construction and engineering projects. Their main goal is to ensure that projects are completed within budget while meeting quality and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and project budgets.
- Measure quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities
- Analyse construction drawings and specifications.
- Monitor project costs and track expenditures.
- Prepare tender and contract documents.
- Evaluate contractor bids and quotations.
- Manage contracts and variations during construction.
- Assess and certify payments to contractors and suppliers.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering.
- Prepare financial reports and final project accounts.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
